राघवस्य वचः श्रुत्वा त्वरमाणो विभीषणः ।
संस्कारेणानुरूपेण योजयामास रावणम् ॥
YUDDHAKANDA
Hearing the words of Raghava, Vibhi-
shana performed the funeral rites of Ravana
fittingly and without delay.
राघवेणाभ्यनुज्ञातो मातलिः शक्रसारथिः ।
दिव्यं तं रथमास्थाय दिवमेवारुरोह सः ॥
Permitted by Raghava, Matali, the
charioteer of Indra, went up to heaven
taking his seat in that heavenly chariot.
अब्रवीच्च तदा रामो लक्ष्मणं दीप्ततेजसम् ॥
Then Rama said to Lakshmana, of
bright lustre.
विभीषणमिमं सौम्य लङ्कायामभिषेचय ।
अनुरक्तं च भक्तं च मम चैवोपकारिणम् ॥
"O amiable one, instal in Lanka this
Vibhishana who is affectionate and devoted
and likewise helpful to me,
एष मे परमः कामो यदीमं रावणानुजम् ।
लङ्कायां सौम्य पश्येयम् अभिषिक्तं विभीषणम्।
