Then understanding that the success of
the enterprise depended on Hanuman,
Rama, the destroyer of foes, gave
with great delight to him (Hanuman) his
ring ornamented with the engraving
of his name as a token to the king's
daughter (Sita).
 
स तं गृह्य हरिश्रेष्ठः स्थाप्य मूर्ध्नि कृताञ्जलिः ।
वन्दित्वा चरणौ चैव प्रस्थितः प्लवगोत्तमः ॥
 
That best and foremost of monkeys
Hanuman received it and placed it on
his head with folded hands and saluting
his (Rama's ) feet, started off.
 
दर्शनार्थे तु वैदेह्याः सर्वतः कपियूथपाः ।
ब्यादिष्टाः कपिराजेन यथोक्तं जग्मुरञ्जसा ॥
 
The commandants of monkeys being
ordered everywhere to find out Sita by
the king of the monkeys, went off quickly
according to their instructions.
 
हनुमत्प्रमुखास्ते तु प्रस्थिताः प्लवगर्षभाः ।
विन्ध्यमेवादितस्तावद्विचेरुस्ते
 
समन्ततः ।
