165]. See the rule Asamṃyogāt etc. (1.2.5), which specifies that only those

suffixes which do not have "p" as an indicatory letter (i.e. apit) are counted

as kit technically. Second person singular basic suffix (sip) has "p". So it

cannot be counted as kit.

[^
166]. MSS. A, C, E, & F read the usage of jayāya senānyam here, and then

the usage kadăā nu hosye.

ṣye.
MSS. B, D, & G read the example: kadā nu hosṣye first, and then the other :

ayāya senānyam.

[^
167]. See P.M. in the beginning of the Juhotyādi. Bhattṭṭoji says:

hosye ityä

hoṣye ityā
dikas tu keşäṣāṃcit prayogaḥ prāmcit prayoādika eva.

Bhaṭṭoji does not mention here the name of the Udārarā
gaḥ prahava or Sākalya-
madilla, whom Bhaṭṭoji ka eva.

Bhattoji does not
nows. He mention here the name of the Udararāghava or Säkalya-
malla, whom Bhattoji knows. He mentions in his S
s in his Ś.K. ( on 3.1.29; p. 363;

CSS. 1929) Bhattṭṭamalla (who is same as SŚākalyamalla) and his āĀkhyāta-

candrikā. The present usage also might have been quoted by Bhattṭṭoji from

the Udārarāghava.

[^
168]. See S.K. on the root Kşi hiṣi hiṃsāyāmsāyām ( svādi ). Bhattṭṭoji quotes the line:

na tad yaśaś śastrabhrṛtām kşinṣiṇoti (Raghu.II.40).
