MS. C is not clear.
vāmadeva is a synonym of Śiva. Amara notes :
Vāmadevo mahādevo virūpākṣas trilocanaḥ.
The expressions vāmavāma- may be analysed as vāme (bhāge) vāmā yasya
sah. It would be a reference to Ardhanarīśvara form of Siva, as His left side
was taken over by Parvati according to mythology.

MS. D reads : vāmakāmavighātine.
Some syllables are missing here in MSS C & E.
[^9]. This is a reference to a form of Viṣṇu, also known as Viṭṭhala. See
Apte under Viṭṭhala.
[^10.] Marudgaṇa means devagaṇa. Amarudgaṇa here stands for the Pramatha-
gaṇa. They were the demigods, who were attendants of Śiva, Bhṛṅgi
<flag>Riṭi</flag> etc. The expression seems intended to mean that the Pramathagaṇas
eulogized Gaṇeśa to be the fourth powerful god, the three being the well-
known Trimūrtis, Brahmā, Viṣṇu and Maheśa.
[^11]. MS. F reads : urīkṛtāstravrajam.
MSS. A & E read : urīkṛtāsyavrajam.
In MS. C some syllables are missing.
Only MS. D reads turīyam aguṇair nutaṃ sakalabuddhisandhāyakam.
[^12]. The word bhāva has many meanings. Amara notes :
bhāvas sattāsvabhāvābhiprāyaceṣṭātmajanmasu.
So bhāvinām here means janminām, i.e. śarīriṇām==saṃsāriṇām.
