[^1]. Only MS. B reads : sudhākādambinīṃ vāṇīṃ vīṇāpāṇim upāsmahe.
All other Mss. read what is given in the text. See the Introduction
on the date of the author.
[^2]. MS. D clearly reads : janus sukhādika-etc., of which januḥ stands for
janma. Amara notes: janur jananajanmāni-etc.
MSS. A, C, & E read : janās sukhādhika-etc.
Ms. F reads : janaḥ sukhānaka-etc.
In MSS. B and G verses from 2 to 13 are missing.
[^3]. MS. C seems to read: bhīrusthiteḥ.
MSS. D & F read : bhīmasya te.
Others read : bhīmasthiteḥ.
[^4]. MSS. C & F read the beginning of the verse as umādāmakāyam.
Others read : umāvāmakāyam.
[^5]. MSS A & E read : sarabhasaṃ pṛṣatībhrameṇa, and
... ca vitanotu.
MSS. C & F read icchāvatīṃ saratnapṛsaṃṣat (?) bhrameṇa, and ... ca
vitanotu.
MS. D reads: icchāvatīṃ ca vararatnam iti bhrameṇa, and śvaśśreuasīṃ
carīkarītu.
Perhaps the reading intended was:
icchāvatiṃ sarabhasaṃ spṛśatīṃ bhrameṇa,
and ...śvaśśreyasaṃ sa vitanotu etc.
Amara notes:
śvaśśreyasaṃ śivaṃ bhadram kalyāṇaṃ maṅgalaṃ śubham.
[^6]. Both the forms spṛśatīṃ and spṛśantīṃ are correct according to the rule
7.1.80.
