marks, of a lordly elephant possessing sixfold teeth,
of a lordly steed with hair dark like the bright hue
of a peacock's throat, of a spotless gem bright as the
sun's ray, of a treasurer with full treasury, and of a
general with a heroic army.

One who has obtained success in thy lore enters
the vernal garden of Malaya mountain as the lord of
Vidyadharas, while his lady-love has placed a sign
(indicative of the trysting place) on a gem slab
fragrant with the exudation of sandals, and has, in
token of sincere devotion, prepared a fresh hospitable
reception that he may find pleasure in sporting with
her; and the bracelet encircling his fat and lofty arm,
darkened by the reflection of his sword, shines forth.

To thee as to their lord devoutly pray the love-
intoxicated celestial damsels whose necklaces reach
far down to the lower extremity of their bosom,
whose long eyes surpass the red lotuses (hanging)
from their ears, while through the gentle fragrance
of the Mandara flowers, adorning their long braided
locks, bees are intoxicated, and the tinkling of the
large anklets round their legs is louder than the
succession of noise made by their waist-girdles.

One who has worshipped thee, ever experiences the
joy of a journey to the Nandana garden which con-
