He was not bothered whether the other scholars who

were unduely proud of their scholarship and jealous,

appreciate his work or not. But, if Śrī Vyāsa Tīrtha,

in approval, just once noded his head that he felt

as worth of hundred golden mountains.

It is also noteworthy that Somanātha gives a slightly

different version of some of the events in the life

of Śrī Vyāsa Tīrtha. For instance, the event of Lord

Gopāla Kṛṣṇa appearing and dancing before him. The

tradition holds that the idol of Śrī Kṛṣṇa started dancing

to his tune and when Śrī śrīpādarāja entered the room

it abruptly stopped the dance in an unusual pose.

The names of Śrī Vyāsa Tīrtha'&apos;s parents, Balhaṇa Sumati

and Lakṣmi are not familiar to the tradition. In spite

of some of these discrepencies, it must be admitted

that through his work, Somanātha kavi had made a

significant contribution, for it is this work that throws

much light on the towering personality of Śrī Vyasa

Tīrtha. In the absence of this literary work, many

historical points and valuable details of the life of

Śrī Vyāsa Tīrtha, would have remained unknown forever.
