भो भो मत्सरकुत्सितान् सुमतयो दुर्वैदुषी गर्विता

He was not bothered whether the other scholars who
were unduely proud of their scholarship and jealous,
appreciate his work or not. But, if Śrī Vyāsa Tīrtha,
in approval, just once noded his head that he felt
as worth of hundred golden mountains.
It is also noteworthy that Somanātha gives a slightly
different version of some of the events in the life
of Śrī Vyāsa Tīrtha. For instance, the event of Lord
Gopāla Kṛṣṇa appearing and dancing before him. The
tradition holds that the idol of Śrī Kṛṣṇa started dancing
to his tune and when Śrī śrīpādarāja entered the room
it abruptly stopped the dance in an unusual pose.
The names of Śrī Vyāsa Tīrtha's parents, Balhaṇa Sumati
and Lakṣmi are not familiar to the tradition. In spite
of some of these discrepencies, it must be admitted
that through his work, Somanātha kavi had made a
significant contribution, for it is this work that throws
much light on the towering personality of Śrī Vyasa
Tīrtha. In the absence of this literary work, many
historical points and valuable details of the life of
Śrī Vyāsa Tīrtha, would have remained unknown forever.
The literary merit of 'Vyāsayogicharitam'
Vyāsayogicharitam is a champū kāvya. A champū
is described as a form of poetry that consists of both
prose and verses. Champū Bhārata of Anantha Bhatta,
Champū Rāmāyaṇa of Bhoja and such other works
