having promptly returned to the mutt conveys his

willingness to be initiated into Sannyāsa. Srī Bramhanya

Tīrtha, on an auspicious day ordains him and gives

IV Chapter

<p lang="sa">
The Chapter opens with the description of the tour

that Śrī Vyasa Tīrtha undertakes after his initiation.

He is young and his indepth knowledge in various

branches of learning is par-excellence. The great scholars

of the time, are amazed at his erudition. His oratory

captivates all those that hear him. There are some

wicked persons also who are jealous of him. Once

that Jealousy prompts a wretched to poison the food

that Śrī Vyāsa Tirtha takes after offering the same

to the Lord. Slowly the poison starts working. Gradually,

Śrī Vyāsa Tīrtha becomes very much emanciated. One

night Lord Kṛṣṇa appears in his dream and suggests

a herb as the medicine. The medicine works and by

the grace of his Ārādhya mūrthy Śrī Vyāsa Tīrtha

becomes as healthy as he was earlier.

On his tour, Śrī Vyāsa Tīrtha visits many centres

of learning and comes to Mulbagal, which, Śrī

Lakṣmīnārāyaṇa Muni, well known as Śrī śrīpādarāja

adornes by his sacred presence. He stays there for

some time during which Srī Lakṣmīnārāyaṇa Muni teaches

him the secrecies and subtleties of Adhyātm'&apos;a Vidyā.

Śrī śrīpādarāja also advices him to go to the capital

city of the kingdom and be the spiritual guide of

the king so that Dharma will be established in the
