1. Kāmasandeśa:- The Kamasandefa of Matṛdatta
consists of 66 verses in the Purvabhāga and 69 verses in
the Uttarabhaga. The hero while enjoying the company
of his wife is suddenly taken away by a raksas to Cidam-
bara (g). He meets Kāmadeva there and requests
him to take a message to his wife Candralakṣmi at Tiru-
nāvāya. The route from Cidambara to Tirunāvāya passes
through the river haveri, the brahmin agrahāra at Kaṇ-
thamāṇikya, Madhyārjuna (Tiruvitaimarutūr), Kumbha-
koņa, Śrīranga, Konkaṇa, the Bhaṭṭinātha temple (the
Perur temple near Coimbatore), Mangala, the Tiruvil-
vāmala temple, Trichur, Istakroḍa (Tirumittakkode),

script. After verse 61, the succeeding verse is numbered 63,

A better reading is as adopted by Ullur. See KSC, II,

p. 348.
