nārīsvara was the teacher of the young Rājacūḍāmaņi.
He is the author of a work called Ambastavaṭīkā.
Regarding Ardhanārisvara my friend, Mr. R. Krishna-
swami Sastri writes to me in the course of a letter thus:
 
"Elder brother and teacher of Rajacūḍāmaṇi, he
(Ardhanārīsvara) is the author of a. A complete
manuscript of this work exists in my family collection.
It is a commentary on Ambästava (one of the Pañcastavi,
attributed to Kālidāsa and published in the Kâāvyamālā
3rd Guccha). It is an elaborate work bringing out
various aspects of the higher Sri Vidya cult. It may be
noted that Ratnakheta was a devotee of S'rī Vidyā.
The information regarding the literary works of Ratna-
kheta and his ancestors, given in the colophons of the
Ambastava tika tallies with what is mentioned by Bala-
yajñavedesvara in his Țīkā. This is the only informa-
tion that we have of Ardhanārisvara.

at an early age and the task of edu-
cating the young boy devolved upon
the brother. Ardhanarīsvara took care of the orphan
and educated him in a manner befitting the high tradi-
tions of his family and very soon Rājacūḍāmaṇi began
to display his literary talents. Early in his sixth year,
he wrote the Nāṭikā, Kamalinikalahamsa. The follow-
ing statement found in the Prastavana of that drama
पारिपार्श्वकः – तेन हि गर्भसप्तम एव हायने विरचय्य सबहुमान-
मस्माकं हस्ते दत्ता किल कमलिनीकलहंसनामधेया शृङ्गाररसमणिपेटिका नाटिका ।
