Raghunatha A.D. 1614 ?

The Anandarāghava of Rājacūḍāmaṇi Dīkṣita was written
in the court of Raghunatha Nayaka as stated in the pras-
tāvanā. Govinda Dikşita continued to be the minister of
all these three Kings.¹ Rajacūḍāmaņi Dīkṣita was the
court-poet of the last. The fact that Rajacūḍāmaṇi
has written the biography of Raghunatha called
Raghunathabhūpavijayam is proof sufficient to show
that the major portion of his literary career synchronises
with the reign of Raghunatha. In his Tantrasikhāmaņi,
Rajacuḍāmaņi says:

xxiii

धीमान्मान्ये शकस्याब्दे हायने चेश्वराभिधे ।
चूडामणिः कलयते यज्वा तन्त्रशिखामणिम् ॥

which gives 1559 Saka or 1636 A.D. as the date of
the Tantrasikhāmaņi. The date of Rājacūḍāmaṇi may
be fixed in the end of the sixteenth century and
beginning of the seventeenth century.

Sufficient information is available regarding the
ancestors of Rajacūḍāmani. The
following pedigree is given by the
commentator on the Rukmini-
Ancestors of Raja-
cudamani.
