world for the first time in print was written for a
particular class of people, not for the common people
in the street nor for the modern man.
Even now it is
published for the enjoyment of the select few. If this
class of poetry will not meet with the approval of the
modern age,
it will at least present to the modern world
a picture of another kind of life quite different from
ours, a sort of life which co-existed with India's days.

now is only to contribute a little to the picture of life
in India in her days of fame and plenty.
