SUNDARAKANDA

325

Being thus told by Hanuman, the grief-
stricken Raghava, the son of Dasaratha,
told Sugriva this with his eyes full of
tears, after looking at that excellent
jewel :

"This Jewel does indeed shine on the
head of my beloved. Looking at it now
I fancy Sita herself returned.

Vaidehi will have indeed lived long if
she sustains herself for a month. But
cannot live even for a moment without
the dark-eyed one.

Lead me also to that place where my
beloved was seen (by you). I cannot
tarry even for a moment after having
obtained news of her.
