AYAMUKHA-The chief sources of income of the
State. They are seven in number, viz. Mula,
Bhaga, Vyaji, Parigha, Klrpta, Rupika and
Atyaya (vide AS' II. 6).

AYAS'ARĪRA-(1) Sources of State Revenue, viz.
Durga, Rastra, Khani, Setu, Vana, Vraja,
Vanik-Patha and their sub-varieties. (vide AS'
II. 6).
 
ĀYUKTA—(1) An officer in general.
 
(2) A Governor of a district or subdivision.
(Vide Kamasutra, V. 5.5.)
 
(3) The term may often be equated to Ayuk-
taka,' Ayukta-puruşa and also Yukta and
Yuktaka.
 
(4) As opposed to the term Anāyukta (AS' II.
13) used in the same context, the term Ayukta
means 'an authorised official' while the former
means an unauthorised official or employee.

AYUDHĀGĀRA-An armoury or arsenal. (Vide
AS' II. 18 and Manu Sam IX. 280).
 
AYUDHĀGĀRĀDHYAKSA-The superintendent
of the royal armoury. His duties are given in
detail in AS' II. 18.
