tions go (cow), bhu (land), hiranya (gold) as

ĀDHIPATYA-(1) A type of monarchy. The term
occurs in an oath of the Aitareya Brāhmaṇa
(VIII. 15)
 
(2) Sāyana explains the term as 'lordship over
the other Kings of heaven' after retirement from
the earth.
 
(3) A.B. Keith renders the term as 'overlord-
