Mahāmaātras or Tiīrthas (q.v.). Sometimes a Yu-

varāja also is required to act as the head of the

state. In that case the type of government is
called

Yauvaraājya (q.v.). Cf. yuvarāje vā

kramena raṇa rājyabhāram aropya raāropya rājavyasanam,

(AS V. 6). Here the chief minister is advised

to make public the report of the demise of a

king only after gradually transferring the regal

responsibilities to the Yuvarāja.
