DHARMOPADHÃĀ--Test of virtue. (See Upadhā).

This is actually a test of loyalty of the Amatyas.
ātyas.
The Purohita picks up a sham quarrel with the

King and brings an allegation that the King is

'un virtuous', and pleads that he should be re-

moved from the throne. If an Amatya does not
ātya does not
take side with the Purohita then he is supposed

to have passed in the test of virtue. (AŚ I. 10).

is the counterpart of the Naāgarika in respect of
