bands. But they all contributed to the welfare of the
world. They are all regarded as benefactors of the
world.

<p text="C">The devotee does all actions which are pleasing
to the Lord till he attains God-realisation. He
abandons activities that are prohibited by the scrip-
tures such as theft, adultry, taking animal food and
liquor. He abandons all selfish actions. But he does
Nitya (obligatory) and Naimittika (incidental) in
strict conformity with the procedure laid down in the
Vedas without any expectation of fruits.

<p text="C">Lord Krishna says:"<quote>"If also thou art not equal to
constant practice, be intent on My service; perform-
ing actions for My sake, thou shalt attain perfection."
"</quote>
Ch. XII --- 12."<quote>"Acts of sacrifice, gift and charity
should not be relinquished, but should be performed:
sacrifice, gift, and also austerity are the purifiers of
the intelligent.""</quote> Ch. XVIII --- 5.

ground of Antahkarana for the growth of devotion.
