३. कटुतिक्तकः (कै०) – पत्राणां मूलस्य च कटुतिक्तत्वात् ।
४. क्रकरः (भा०)–क्रकर इव, तीक्ष्णकण्टकत्वात् ।
५. गूढपत्र: (ध०) —सूक्ष्मपत्रः ।
६. ग्रन्थिल: (भा०) – शाखानां ग्रन्थिमत्त्वात् ।
७. चक्रकः (ध०) – फलानां वर्तुलत्वात् ।
८. तीक्ष्णकण्टकः (ध०) – तीक्ष्णाः कण्टका अस्य ।
९. तीक्ष्णसार: (ध०) - तीक्ष्णः सारः मूलं त्वक् चास्य ।
१०. मरुभूरुहः (भा०) – मरुस्थले जायमानत्वात् ।
११. मृदुफल: (ध०) - मृदूनि फलान्यस्य ।
१२. शाकपुष्प: (ध० ) – शाके प्रयुज्यमानानि पुष्पाण्यस्य ।
 
Kariīra ( Capparis decidua Edgew. ) is a plant
of arid zone (marubhūruha ) having small leaves on
new shoots the old branches staying leafless (apatra,
gūḍhapātra ). Leaves and root are pungent and bitter
( kaṭutiktaka, tīkṣṇasāra ). Branches are nodular
(granthila) with sharp spines (krakara, tiīkśṇakatṇṭaka).
Round and soft fruits ( mrṛduphala ) and also flow-
ers are used as vegetable ( śākapusṣpa ). It is stimu-
lant and pacifies vāta (karīra)
