१. करमर्दः (भा०) –करं मर्दयति पीडयति कण्टकैः; करेण मृद्यते

२. आविग्नः (रा०) – आ विजते बिभेत्यस्मात् कण्टकित्वात् 'ओविजीr
भयचलनयोः' ।

५. स्थूलपर्कट: (नि०) - स्थूलं पर्कटस्येव फलमस्य ।
Karamarda ( Carissa carandus Linn. ) is densely
thorny plant ( karamarda, āvigna, suseṇa ) which
bears sizeable fruit resembling those of parkaṭa
(sthūlāparkaṭa ) and turning black on ripening
( kṛṣṇapākaphala ).
