Āragvadha (Cassia fistula Linn.) bears beautiful (pragraha), golden yellow flowers (svarṇānga) adorned by the garland (kṛtamāla) of which looks
like king of trees (rājavṛkṣa). Flowers are used as
ear ornaments (karṇābharaṇa ). It has long stick-like
fruit (dīrghaphala) inside which the marrow is
demarcated at every four fingers distance (catur-
aṅgula). As a drug, it provides well-being (ārogya-
śimbī, śampāka) by alleviating many diseases
(āragvadha, vyādhighāta ) particularly āma (āmahā),
fever (jvarāntaka) and kusṭha (kusṭha-s
ūdana). It
