१३. विश्वधूपकम् (ध०) – विश्वं धूपयतीति; कैयदेवः 'विश्व-

रूपकम्' इति पठति— 'विश्वं रूपयतीति' ।
 

 
१४. शीतशमनः (अ०) – उष्णत्वाच्छीतं शमयति; चरकेऽपि शीत-

प्रशमने ऽगुर्वादिगणे पठ्यते ।

Aguru ( Aquilaria agallocha Roxb.) grows in
hilly regions ( Śrn
hilly regions ( śrṅgaja ) of anāryadeśa ( anāryakam-

North-East ). The aromatic (sugagandhi ) part which

is heavy and black like iron (loha) is formed by

infestation (yogaja ) of a type of fungus ( krṛmija,

krṛmijagdha ) which is a valuable ( rājārha ) incense

and perfume (dhūpavāsa), also used as cosmetic

( varnṇaprasādana ) and cold-allaying substance

( śītaśamana ).
