of haritaki, Suśruta added vijayā while Vägbhaṭa
coined new synonyms cetaki, and prāṇadā.
One of the intresting facts obssved is the inter-
change of basonyms and synonyms as explained in
cases of kapikacchu, kokilākṣa and cakramarda; simi-
larly, kalihārī, tulasī and lajjālu do not appear in
Brhattrayi but later on occupied the positon of
basonym.
