generally with seven leaves (saptaparna, saptahva )
together in a petiole like those of salmali (śālmali-

patraka ) and shaped like oyster-shell (śuktiparna ).
They are mostly in odd numbers (visamacchada)
spread like umbrella (chatraparṇa ). Bark of the plant
is thick and large ( viśalatvak ). It bears, in autumn
( sārada ), flowers with intense odour (madagandha )
which causes headache (Śiroruk), in cluster ( guccha-
puspaka ). The plant provides a potent drug for
malarial fever ( visamacchada ) and grahas (graha-
nāśana ).
