Nāmarūpajñānam
 
Mārnṃsī ( Nardostachys jatamansi DC ) grows on

high altitude (kirātinī, tapasvinī). The rhizome with

root, useful part, is covered with fibres like matted

hair blackish grey in colour ( krsnṛṣṇajataā, jatamāmṭāmāṃsī,

jatila, misṭilā, miśī, sulomaśa ) and highly aromatic (nalada ).
