( śauṇḍi ), black when dried ( kṛṣṇā ) and pungent
( ūṣaṇā, kolā, tīkṣṇataṇḍulā). It is useful in many
disorders and also as rasāyana (pippalī, capalā ). It
is also used in distilleries and bars ( sauṇḍī).
