Nirgundī ( Vitex negundo Linn. ) is a plant re-
sistant to cold ( śitasaha ) and aromatic ( sugandhikā,
suvahā ). Like that of tulasi. The leaf juice is an
efficacious drug ( indrasurasā, indranī ) in a number
of ailments ( nirgundi ). It purifies body ( suvahā ),
checks accumulation of fluid ( sriduvāra ) and elimi-
nates evil organisms ( bhūtakesi ).
