नामरूपज्ञानम्
 
( jyotismati, jyotiskā ) and yellow flower ( suvarna-
latikā, agnibhā ). Fruits are small ( sūksmaphala )
resembling crow's eggs ( kākāndi) and seeds like
millet grains (kangunikā) which are article of trade
( panyā ) and yield yellow oil ( pītataila ). They are
difficult to digest (durjarā) and cause narcosis
( durmadā ) in excessive dose. They are quickly act-
ing ( vegā ), promote intellect ( medhyā ) and alle-
viate many disorders ( lavanā ). It also prevents
senility ( durjarā ) and as such is used as rasāyana.
It is usnavirya ( jyotismatī ).
