सुग्रीवनामा तेन कृता अन्तमतिर्यस्याः सा । सुग्रीवोक्त्या असुराणाम्
अन्त एव कर्तव्य इति मतिर्देव्या निश्चिता जातेति। जय जयेति ।

केशों के सुन्दर गुच्छों से शोभायमान हे शैलसूनु ! हे महिषापुर
मर्दिनी माता तुम्हारी जय हो । रण में मदोन्मत्त शत्रुओं का वध करने
के लिये प्रगट हुई शक्ती माहेश्वरी आदि शक्तियां चारों ओर से तुम्हें
सम्हाले हुए थी । तुम ने अंति चतुर विचारशील, महामना, गणाधिपति
शिवजी को अपना दूत बनाकर अपना शान्तिसन्देश भेजा था । किन्तु
दुष्ट एवं दुर्मति दानव दूत (सुग्रीव) के द्वारा उसे ठुकरा देने से तुम
ने दानवों का अन्त करने का फैसला किया था ।।५।।
Hail, Oh Goddess, supported by the powers
of undefeated gods which arose for the death
of enemies who were ferocious in the battle,
having Siva, the foremost dignitary of
ingenious thoughts, as an efficient messenger,
who made up her mind to put an end to demon-rule
because of the messenger (Suyriva) of demons
having evil behaviour, evil wishes, evil mind
and wicked disposition, who has crushed the
