It is doubtful if the Harihara Raya I was alive in 1943 A. D.
Mr. Suyaz said that he was not alive. It cannot be brushed aside.
Harihara, Bukkaraja etc., about five, belong to the serfs'
dynasties of the emperor of Hoyisala.

These foresaw the impending danger to South India, and
with a view to prevent the Bhamini Sultans from raiding the
South were advancing towards North. Sri Vidyaranya Yogi
blessed them with Darsan. Sri T. Sankaram wrote in his history
of 'Aliyarama Bhoopala', that there is a version that Vidyaranya
Yogi has selected out of the aforesaid five kings Bukkaraja and
incarnated him at Anegondi and thus revived the extinct Hoyisala
family. (Vide page 26). During the time of Harihara's regime also
Bukkaraya assumed power as Saamrat of Vijayanagar. This is also
affirmed by the narrative in the above book. The description,
प्रथमः पृथिवीभुजाम् ” by this authoress can be said to be suggestive
of it. History mentions that Bukkaraja was appointed as the
Yuvaraja, and accepted as the ruler of Vijayanagar by Harihara
Raya himself during his lifetime. The beginnings of the empire of
Harihara have been laid even when he was at Anegondi. Till
1345 A. D. Vijayanagar empire did not assume full shape. As
stated by Mr. Suyaj, Harihara I must have passed away by <error>thens</error><fix>then</fix>
Bukkaraya was solely reigning over Vijayanagar. The word.
“ आसीत्समस्तसामन्तमस्तकन्यस्तशासन: in this Madhura Vijayam
establish it. In this text, the expression, "हरिहरानुजः" is the,
only reference to Harihara I. The theme of this Kavya having
started with Bukkaraja alone and Kamparaya having been described
as Yuvaraja also, confirm the aforesaid fact. If Harihara I were
alive, it would not have been possible for Bukkaraja being des-
cribed as emperor and for Kamparaya to be eulogised as Yuvaraja
