युधिष्ठिरः-
'अयं श्वा भूतभव्येश भक्तो मां नित्यमेवछह ।
स गच्छेत मया सार्धमानृशंस्या हि मे मतिः ॥
MAHAPRASTHANA PARVA
Yudhisthira-
"Lord of things past and coming !
this dog has ever been devoted to me; let
him go
him go ( to heaven) with me; for any
heart is compassionatce."
इन्द्रः-

अमर्त्यत्वं मत्समत्वं च राजन्
श्रियं कृत्स्नां महतीं चैव सिद्धिम् ।
संप्राप्तोऽद्य स्वर्गसुखानि च त्वं
त्यज श्वानं नात्र नृशंसमस्ति ॥'
Indra-

'King, you have attained now immor-
tality, equality with me, complete fortune,
the great fulfilment of emancipation, and
heaven's happiness; abandon
the dog;
there is nothing cruel in it."
