KARNA PARVA
ततोऽभिषिषिचु: कर्णणं राजानां विजयैषिणः ॥
Then, desirous of victory, tne kings
(Duryodhana and others) anointed Karna
(as commander).
स शल्यसंगृहीताश्वे रथे कर्णस्स्थितो बभौ ॥
Standing on the chariot (the reins of )
whose horses Salya was holding, Karna
shone forth.
ततः पुनस्समाजग्मुरभीताः कुरुपाण्डवाः ।
रराज लोहितेनोर्वी संसिकाक्ता बहुधा भृशम् ॥
Then again, the fearless Kauravas and
the Pandavas attacked each other. The
earth shone very much, profusely besprinkled
with blood.
