Similarly, Sahadeva drank the water and

fell down ; Arjuna, afflicted with thirst, drank

and fell down; Bhima ran to the water, drank

and fell down.
 
VANA PARVA
 

 
ततश्चिरगतान्भ्रातृनथाशाज्ञाय युधिष्ठिरः ।

उपागम्य सरो दृष्ट्वा हतान्भ्रातॄन् बिलप्य च ।

पातुकामश्च तत्तोयमन्तरिक्षात्स शुध्श्रुवे ।

'प्रश्नानुक्त्वा तु कौन्तेय ततः पिब हरस्व च' ॥
 

Finding then that the brothers had long

been absent, Yudhisthira Cime to the lake,
came to the lake,
saw the brothers killed and wept; and as he

was about to drink, he heard a voice

from the skies : " Yudhisthira, after

answering my questions, drink and take

water."
 

 
युधिष्ठिरः-

'यथाप्रशंज्ञं तु ते प्रश्नान्प्रतिषवक्ष्यामि पृच्छ माम् ॥'
 

Yudhisthira-

"To the measure of my knowledge, I

will answer your questions; question me."
