THE MAHABHARATA
ते द्वादशं वर्षमथोपयान्तं
सरस्वतीमेत्य निवासकामाः ।
सरस्ततो द्वैतवनं प्रतीयु-
स्सुखं विजहूर्नरदेवपुत्राः ॥
Desiring to proceed to the Sarasvati and
live there the twelfth year that was
approaching, the princes then proceeded to
the lake in the Dvaita forest
and spent
their time happily.
तत्रैव वसतां प्रावृडभ्यतीताऽभवच्छरत् ।
पर्वसन्धौ स्म तत्राऽऽसीत्कार्तिकी [जनमेजय] ।
तमिस्राभ्युदये तस्मिन् काम्यकं प्रययुर्वनम् ॥
To them living in that same place, the
rains passed and autumn came and (then)
the autumnal full-moon night. In the
dark fortnight that followed, they left for
the Kamyaka forest.
ततस्तान्वसतस्तत्र सहितस्सत्यभामया ।
उपायाद्देवकीपुत्रो दिडक्षुः कुरुसत्तमान् ॥
