THE MAHABHARATA

Duryodhana-
"King, this Sakuni, expert with the dice,
ventures to capture the riches of Yudhisthira
through gambling; you must permit that."

Hearing those plaintive words of
Duryodhana said with affection, Dhritarashtra
sent for Vidura.

Knowing as he did the evils of gambling,
he was being dragged by his affection for
his son.

Hearing that, the wise Vidura said these
words : "King, I do not approve of this
resolve of yours. Act in such a manner
that there will be no split amongst your
sons because of this game of dice."
