Laukikany'Cāyakośa
 
Cămīkara' means gold. Secondarily any golden

ornament is called Căāmīkara! It also means golden

chain put around the neck. A stupid person has no

idea about the golden chain he has put on. Similarly, he has put on. Similarly
a person,
a person though Brahman from the ultimate point of
view, thoudoes not realize it, owing to ignorance only.
A teacher can make him realize it. Though Brahman from the ultimate point of
view, does not realize it, owing to ignorance only.

is indirectly realized through understanding, the real

nature of the individual soul; the self as it were is not

realized owing to the influence of Mãyāyā. It is the advice

of the preceptor which advises him to realize it inwardly.

This maxim is generally applied to a person who wipes

off the bad qualities of other person just by his contact, as

the fruit called 'Kataka' removes the dirt from the water
when that fruit is put in it.
