The maxim decries the act of quarrelling for the price

of a goud when the elephant is sold away. Quarrelling

for petty things is futile and also foolish when the big

thing is disposed off.

'Vinigamana' means considering only one aspect of

some matters when other aspects are also possible. In

astronomy some scholars concentrate on 'Drgganṛggaṇitā'

method for the Süūryasiddhānta. But it cannot be proper

to ascertian that Süūryasiddhäānt doctrine is the only

right one.
