like a cat. The cat drinks milk, etc., stealthily
without any regard to the master. The mayavādins also
have robbed Brahman of His glory and attributes. also
means a fox. In this case the mayavādins are compared
to a cunning fox since they employ crafty arguments to
support the untenable identity of Brahman and jiva.
 
fazia: The māyāvādins argue that the five-fold
difference () so evident to all of us is only illusion
(I). The acārya has clearly brought out the reality of this
difference in his works. The five-fold difference is that
between 1) jiva and jiva 2) jada and jada 3) jiva and jada
4) jada and Ïśa and 5) jiva and Isa. acc. to Paramaśruti.

जीवेश्वरभिदा चैव जडेश्वरभिदा तथा ।
जीवभेदोमिथश्चैव जडजीवभिदा तथा ।
मिथञ्च जडभेदोऽयं प्रपञ्चो भेदपञ्चकः ॥

In this verse the poet says that Sri Madhva, the third
avatar of Sri Vayu, is worshipped by the gods and the
best of men as a result of which they attain Vaikuntha
where they are served by the attendants of Lord Sri Hari
in accordance with gradation.
