27. Alamkāra-kaustubha (or A Gem of Literary Criticism) : The
author of this text (written in 1752 AD) is Paramānanda-dāsa-sena
or popularly known as kavi-karnapura (ie a jewel of the poets) who
was the son of Sivananda, a direct disciple of Śricaitanya, the doyen
of Bengal vaiṣṇavism and a mystic devotee of Lord Kṛṣṇa. This
work divided in 10 chapters deals with the important topics of
poetics. One peculiar feature of his work is that all the illustration
verses are concerned with the theme of Radha and Kṛṣṇa. This
work is of minor importance and lacks originality.
