Sanskrit, Prakrit, and Gujarati words. 1, nom. pl.

stands for the singular as well as for the plural;
hunger. Transl.: 'O Bharataka, your pupils, the tall, and well-
fed (stout), and prosperous (rich), do not recite (learn), not repeat,
and not make poetry. And I [plur. of modesty] am reciting
(learning), but [instead of, 'and'] I am making poetry; notwith-
standing I am starving with hunger. What is here the fault of deeds
[done in previous existences]? The metre of the stanza is Mâlini.
