SRIMAD BHAGAVATA
 

 
यस्य प्रसन्नो भगवान्गुणैमैंमैत्र्यादिभिर्हरिः ।

तस्मै नमन्ति भूतानि निम्नमाप इवस्वयम् ॥
 
as
 

To him whom Lord Hari hath favoured

as a result of his virtues of universal

friendliness and the rest, all beings bend

low, even as waters turn of themselves

towards the low-lying place.
 

 
सुनीतिरस्य जननी प्राणेभ्योऽपि प्रियं सुतम् ॥

उपगुह्य जहावाधिं तदङ्गस्पर्शनिर्वृता ॥
 

And Suniti, his mother, embraced her
son, dearer to her than her life, and

son, dearer to her than her life, and
feeling beautiflied by the touch of his

limbs, cast her anguish away.
 

 
उत्तानपादो राजर्षिः प्रभावं तनयस्य तम् ।

श्रुत्वा दृष्ट्वाऽद्भुततमं प्रकृतीनां च संमतम् ।

अनुरक्तप्रजं [राजा] ध्रुवं च<flag></flag> भुवः पतिम् ॥
