तन्निरीक्ष्योद्धवो [राजन् ] नित्यं कृष्णमनुव्रतः ।
विविक्त उपसङ्गम्य जगतामीश्वरेश्वरम् ।
प्रणम्य शिरसा पादौ प्राञ्जलिस्तमभाषत ॥

सहृत्यैतत्कुल नूनं लोकं सन्त्यक्ष्यते भवान् ।
नाई तवाङ्घ्रिकमलं क्षणार्धमपि केशव ।
त्यक्क्तुं समुत्सहे नाथ स्वधाम नय मामपि ॥'
SL
Thus commanded by the Lord, (the
Yadavas) made ready their chariots.
Seeing them get ready, Uddhava, ever
devoted to Krishna, approached the over-
lord of the universe in solitude, bowed
with his head at his feet, and said to Him
with folded hands:
"After bringing to an end this race,
surely you will leave this world altogether.
My Lord, I cannot leave off your lotus-
feet even for a fraction of a second; take
me also to your place."
