श्रीभगवान्-

'प्रायो गृहेषु ते चित्तमकामविहतं तथा ।

नैवातिप्रीयसे विद्वन् धनेषु विदितं हि मे ॥

The Lord-

"In household life, your mind is

not lost in material desires. O man of

wisdom! I know you are not over-fond

of riches.
 

 
'किमुपायनमानीतं ब्रह्मन् मे भवता गृहात् ।

अण्वप्युपाहृतं भक्तैः प्रेम्णा भूर्येव मे भवेत् ।

भूर्यप्यभक्तोपहृतं न मे तोषाय कल्पते ॥
 

"O Brahmin ! What offering have you

brought for me from your house? Even

the little that is offered by the devoted

will become ample because of the love;

and even the ample that is offered by the

unloving does not suffice to satisfy Me.
