With his coil aching as a result of
Krishna's body swelling, the serpent
abandoned Him, lifted up its hoods in
fury and came round and round. The
Prime Being mounted its hoods, danced,
bent (its hoods) with his foot and subdued

मूर्च्छितं भग्नशिरसं विससर्जाङ्घ्रिकुट्टनैः ।
नागराजोऽभ्यनुज्ञातो द्वीपमब्धेर्जगाम ह ॥
 
KA
 
Krishna (then) set free the serpent
whose hoods had been crushed and who
had swooned as a result of the kicks of
His feet. Given leave (by the Lord), the
serpent-king Kaliya departed to an island
in the ocean.
