SRIMAD BHAGAVATA
स विजित्य दिशस्सर्वा लोकांश्च त्रीन्महासुरः
जहार लोकपालानां स्थानानि सह तेजसा ॥
महेन्द्रभवनं साक्षाद्ध्यवासाखिलर्द्धिमत् ॥
He occupied the very abode of Indra,
possessed of every kind of prosperity.
तस्योप्रदण्डसंविग्नास्सर्वे लोकास्सपालकाः।
अन्यत्रालब्धशरणारशरणं ययुरच्युतम् ॥
Frightened at his tyranny, all the
worlds with their guardians (the gods),
failing to get refuge elsewhere, went to
the imperishable Lord Hari, for refuge.
तेषामाविरभूद्वाणी अरूपा मेघनिस्स्वना ।
'मा भैष्ट विबुधश्रेष्ठास्सर्वेषां भद्रमस्तु वः ।
ज्ञातमेतस्य दौरात्म्यं दैतेयापशदस्य च ।
तस्य शान्ति करिष्यामि कालं तावत्प्रतीक्षत ॥
An incorporeal voice like the rumbling
of the clouds manifested itself to them:
: Great gods ! fear not; let there be
