तच्छ्रुत्वैवासुरास्सर्व आश्रित्यौशनसं मतम् ।

देवान्प्रत्युद्यमं चक्रुर्दुर्मदा आततायिनः ॥
 

As soon as they heard of that dis-

appearance of the preceptor of the gods,
the maddened demons resorted to the

ब्रह्माणं शरणं जग्मुस्सहेन्द्रा नतकन्धराः ।

to severe distress in that manner and told

'अहो बत सुरश्रेष्ठा ह्यभद्रं वः कृतं महत् ।

ब्रह्ममिष्ठं ब्राह्मणणं दान्त मैश्वर्यान्नाभ्यनन्दत ॥
 
'
