THE STORY OF AJAMILA
 
● किमिदं स्वप्न आहोस्वित्साक्षाद् दृष्टमिहाद्भुतम्

क्व याता अद्य ते ये मां व्यकर्षन्पाशपाणयः ।

अथ ते क्व गतारिसस्सिद्धाश्चत्वारश्चारुदर्शनाः ॥
 

"Is this a dream or did I see here a

wonder with my own eyes? Where have

with nooses in their hands?

'सोऽहं तथा यतिष्यामि यतचित्तेन्द्रियानिलः ।

यथा न भूय आत्मानमन्धे तमसि मज्जये ।

" Controlling my mind,
senses, and
breath, I will strive in such a manner as

not to sink myself again in stark

इति जातसुनिर्वेदः क्षणसङ्गेन साधुषु ।

गङ्गाद्वारमुपेयाय मुक्तसर्वानुबन्धनः ॥
 

Thus, with complete disgust for worldly

enjoyment, born in him as a result of a

moment's association with the good,

Ajamila came to the head of the Ganges,

casting away all attachments.
 

 
स तस्मिन्देवसदन आसीनो योगमाश्रितः ।

सद्यः स्वरूपं जगृहे भगवत्पाइर्श्ववर्तिनाम् ।

हैमं विमानमारुह्य ययौ यन्त्र श्रियः पतिः ॥
