of a dream by Vasumati before her second conception
in which it appeared to her that she was swallowing
the whole earth. The first Magadha - Malava battle which
is indicated by a single word 'उत्खातप्रतिरोपित ' in the
Avantisundarī is described in 14 lines in the Das akumara-
carita. We also find a variation in the order of the
acquisition of the children. While in the Avantisundari,
the order is Apaharavarman, Upaharavarman, Purpod-
bhava, Devaraksita and Arthapala, in the Dasakumāracarita
it is Upahāravarman, Apahāravarman, Puspodbhava,
Arthapala and Somadatta.
