the child. It was caught by
a monkey thinking it to
be some sort of a fruit, but
finding it to be something
else, placed it on the
branch of a tree and went

wearied, I took it also with

Jast then an elephant
came there. Terribly afraid
she dropped the baby there
and ran away. I hid my-
self behind some creepers
and was looking on.
As the elephant was taking
the child, a lion appear-
ed, and afraid at its sight,

the child and ran away.

be a fruit, but finding it
to be something different,
left it on the branch of
a tree. Then I came out
and took the baby from
